LiUNA Legislative Update 11-09-2012
Posted On: Nov 12, 2012

Tuesday’s elections were even more successful for Illinois working families than they were in the country as a whole.  The combination of a strong labor movement, a redrawn map designed to benefit our friends in Washington and Springfield, financial advantages and a favorite-son President on the ballot combined for huge gains for worker-friendly candidates.

The Illinois General Assembly returns to Springfield for two weeks after Thanksgiving.  Though its name would indicate that they can only consider bills vetoed by the governor, legislators can take-up any legislation it chooses in the “Veto Session”.
